This year we gave in and bought a GREAT fake tree from Walmart. We starting thinking about the fact that each year we shell out a TON of money on a tree, only to have a shell of one left by the end of the season. I didn't want the hassle of watering the tree (even though the trees never really drank the water anyway!), the fear of it burning down because it was so freakin' dry, or the cat urinating on it to make sure the tree had HER scent. SO, fake tree it is. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. I realize that the above pictures are of the finished product, but below is the process. I think it looks wonderful. (Our babysitter didn't even know it was fake!!)

The fake tree looks great! I've tried to make the switch...I just can't do it. Maybe someday I'll give in.
