The pregnancy that I thought would never end, finally came to a grand ending, with the birth of little Theodore Thomas Wieder. He was 7.18 pounds and 20 inches long. He's our runt so far, coming in an inch behind the other two and a few ounces lighter. But he's still a looker! I chose to be induced, knowing that another week would send me into the looney bin. As it turned out, we made the right decision, since when he came out he was wearing the umbilical cord like a backpack around his little body. Another week and time to put on more weight, and my doctor said the birth would have been pretty complicated. She was relieved I chose to go early.
The chaos of three under 4 has TOTALLY sunk in. True to form for our family, Brendan and Cecelia both caught colds on Tuesday, so they are pretty much banned from Teddy right now, which is no easy feat to accomplish since they are both SO eager to hold and touch him. Teddy has jaundice, which we are treating with a little UV blanket that he has to be on all the time until the Dr's are satisfied. And just so he wouldn't be outdone with medical issues by his siblings, he has a slight heart murmur. However, this is the first baby I have been allowed to take home and KEEP at home with no week long stays in the hospital their first days of life, so I am THRILLED beyond belief that this is all I have to deal with. We will be getting more pictures up as soon as I get on the ball, but these two and the ones on Sayward's blog will have to do for now. My moments of getting to the computer have dwindled for some reason......Love to all , Gary, Julie, Brendan, Cecelia, and Teddy.
