Brendan had his best friend Steele spend the night the other night. This was the first time he has had anyone do that. I figure 5 is a good age to start. Steele showed up about 5, it rained cats and dogs for about 2 hours, so they ate dinner, watched a little tv, played upstairs, then the sun came out about 7pm. I told them they could go swimming in our little pool, so they swam for about an hour and a half, and just had a blast. The neighborhood friend, Matthew came over and swam with them. Cecelia was the only girl, but I had to put her in time out about 3 times for being too rough with them. Go figure. It was a very good experience for Brendan and Steele, so I think I'll be able to do this again. It worked out wonderfully for me because Gary was gone for the night on a leadership retreat with high school kids. They stayed entertained, and Teddy went right down, Cecelia slept with me (I had to convince her that we would have our own sleep over and watch movies with popcorn just like the boys...she kinda bought it). This is Brendan and Steele watching Chicken Little, eating popcorn. They slept on the pull out couch....were asleep by 9:30....and up at 6!!! UGH. Needless to say, I was a little worn.
